The garden is to commemorate the memory of Dr. Inazo Nitobe (b. 1861 d. 1933) who was a famous and highly respected teacher in Canada.
The Tea House located within was constructed in Japan and shipped to Canada for assembling. It follows strict design principal. With 8 windows, 88 stepping stones and 16 walls, the house correspond with the entire garden and is a must for all visitors. Pamphlets and information concerning the garden may be obtained from the front desk of the administration office. Ask for the Nitobe Garden booklet for detailed information.
