It's almost Christmas time in the city and there are lots of events which you can enjoy with your family. Christmas is truly an exciting time of year. The whole city seems more vibrant and full of energy as Christmas cheer inflicts the staunchest Grinch. There's so much going on in the city and it can be hard to keep track of all the events. Vancouver offers a wide array of family activities which you can enjoy. Maybe you'll find an activity which can become an annual family tradition. The holidays are a great excuse to bring family closer and spend time with loved ones. - December 1 - 21, 2007: Fort Langley Horse & Carriage Rides
Tour the Village of Christmas and enjoy the Christmas light decorations as you relax on a carriage ride. The coach is covered so you won't have to worry about any rain. Richmond Nature Park ( 604-718-6188 ) presents it's annual Nature's Lights. Wander through the park and enjoy the festive decorated trees. Bring the family for a great Christmas treat. Entrance is by donation. All proceeds go to charity.
- December 1 - 31, 2007: Burnaby Village Museum
Burnaby Village Museum continues its tradition of holiday celebration with its annual Christmas merriment. Come and see the village decorated for Christmas and be sure to get your picture taken with Santa. The carousel will still be in operation to let your family enjoy a classic ride.
- December 1 - 31, 2007: Christmas Carol Ships
Boat owners decorate their ships for Christmas. Come and see this amazing celebration of lights and hear classic carols. For more information please visit Carol Ships.
- December 1, 2007 to January 3, 2008: Stanley Park Bright Lights
More than one million lights are used to light up the trees surrounding the Children's farmyard and Miniature Train. This is a joint effort by the Vancouver Park's Board and the Vancouver Firefighters. Come out and show your support. It's free to enter the Bright Nights celebration, however, please be generous with your donations as the firefighter's are collecting funds for charity. There is a fee to ride the Miniature Train.
