If you are heading west on the quiet stretch of Marine Drive, turn right at an unobtrusive lane called the Beacon Lane and enter into one of Vancuver's most sanctified wilderness park. Lighthouse Park is approximately 75 hectares (185 acres) of virgin forest. It extends into Burrard Inlet and to the lighthouse at Point Atkinson.
Lighthouse Park was originally set aside in 1881 as a lighthouse reserve which is not only credited with saving lives out in the ocean but also saving the ancient trees that surround the land. Tours are given regularly on summer days.
