As you walk along this trail, be sure to look out for a concrete pier which once served military planes when the park belonged to the Department of National Defense. The pier is an excellent place to get a wonderful scenic view of the city and of the passing harbor traffic. Not far from the pier, is the shore of Jericho Park West. Just beyond it lies the Jericho Sailing Centre where you will find an old abandoned military hanger. The yard is filled with old and disused small sailing crafts. The beachfront, however, now served a sailing school. You can find sailboats for rent along with vital instructions on how to sail. Moving south, near the Northwest Marine Drive you can find several tennis courts, playing fields for soccer and the Jericho Youth Hostel. From the edge of the Jericho Park West you can see views of other Vancouver famous beaches such as the English Bay, Stanley Park and the Lighthouse Park.
