From the tall mountainside slopes of Coquitlam, you can look out over the floodplains of the Pitt River. This is where you will find Pitt Meadows and Maple Ridge.
Golden Ears Provincial Park is perhaps one of the largest camping areas in British Columbia and much of recreational activities in the park are concentrated along the Alouette Lake. Bring along a fishing rod, or swim in the warm water of the lake. You can even drive a motor boat or water ski. The park also offers hiking, horseback riding and cycling trails. Golden Ears Provincial Park comprised of several smaller parks. There is the Rolley Lake Provincial Park where you can go camping if you wish to sail or sailboard. The Kanaka Creek Regional Park is about 12km of creek, forest, sandstone, canyons and marshes and will appeal to the hardiest of hikers. Bring along a picnic basket and comfortable shoes.
