Ask any local and they will tell you that Cypress Park is a must. Minutes from the Cypress Bowl Turnoff on the Upper Levels Highway, a spectacular roadside lookout stand will offer you a beautiful bird's eyes view of the city from the west. From here, you will see the city sitting near the Burrard Inlet. Cpyress Bowl provides ideal conditions for skiing in winter and hiking in summer. It is located within a 30 minute drive from downtown Vancouver.
As you wander further into the park, watch out for extensive hiking trails that zig-zag over the Black Mountain and Hollyburn Ridge. During winter, they are covered with inches of snow. Boasting the greatest vertical drop of the three North Shore ski mountains, Cypress Mountain offers some of the most challenging and rewarding skiing in Vancouver. If you prefer gentler slopes, the best cross-country skiing in the state can also be found here with approximately 27 km of trails weaving around the Hollyburn Ridge.
