Attractions - Jericho Beach in Vancouver, Canada

Jericho Beach It was in the late 1800s, that a logger by the name of Jerry Rogers once settled near a shore and logged on it. Known simply as Jericho Beach (it was known as Jerry's Cove in the past), the beach was used as a golf course in 1908. This was the first known golf field in Vancouver. The golf closed when the Department of National Defense took over the field to build the Pacific Coast Station of the Canadian Air Force.

In the 1970s, Jericho Beach was finally turned over to public use. It now spans 110 acres of prime land with dense trees, rolling lawns and beautiful beaches.

The beach has its own concession stand where you can buy hot food, several washrooms and is an ideal spot for a picnic. There are lifeguards working during the summer period. Not far from the beach is the Jericho Park where you can a lazy stroll along the seaside walk.
