General Information

The Blackcomb Mountain have often been in the shadows of its sister mountain, Whistler but recently, skiers have flocked there as an alternative to the Whistler slopes. It is famous for its steep vertical drop, mile-high glacier, bowls and a leisure trail for cross-country skiing.

If you go to Blackcomb, be prepare to spend an entire day to go exploring. It deserves a full day. It doesn't matter what season it is when you go visiting, as you can ride the gondola or 'quad' chairs to the top. Be warn though, you may find some 'quad' operators closed during specific season so it is ideal to phone ahead to make sure.

For box lunches and no crowds, try a day by going up in a helicopter. Bring along your skies, as you fly over the majestic mountains with Tyax Heli-skiing. The only prerequisite is you have to be a strong or intermediate skier and bring along $350. Tyax will provide lunch and the chopper.
