1. Pan Pacific Vancouver
   • Deluxe convention hotel with heated outdoor pool, health club, wide-screen tv and three restaurants. It is Vancouver's most expensive hotel and all rooms offer harbour views. Japanese influence is present everywhere in the decor, including the grass cloth wall coverings, subdued earth tones and graceful rattan furniture. Ample parking spaces and easy access to the skytrain and seabus. As it is located in the heart of the business district, Gastown is a mere 5 minute walk and a 10 minute walk to Robson Square.

2. Metropolitan Hotel
   • Originally part of the Mandarin chain, this beautiful ultra-deluxe hotel transform into the Delta Place and then finally into the Metropolitan Hotel. It is surrounded with luxurious setting forming one of the many tourist attractions in the city. As you walked into the hotel, you will be impressed by the collection of marble tiles everywhere alongside hand-carved oak desks and silk-covered coat hangars. There is one floor set aside for a health centre complete with squash courts, whirlpool, saunas and business conference rooms.

3. Four Seasons Hotel
   • For the ultimate pampering services, try staying at the Four Seasons Hotel. Some of the niceties about the hotel include bathrobes, hair dryers, VCRs, free shoeshine (simply leave your shoes outside your door at night), outdoor pool and a rooftop garden. The hotel is connected to the Pacific Centre Shopping Mall making it an ideal location for easy access to the stores.

4. The Sutton Place Hotel
   • Formerly the Le Meridien and part of the Air France chain, this fine establishment became part of the Sutton Place Grande Hotels Group in 1995. The decor of the hotel retains an European style with a lobby decorated with extravagant floral arrangement and French provincial furniture. There is a business conference centre ideal for business meetings, as well as a private dining room, pool, sun deck and a health club. The restaurant Table d'Hote is renowned for its Sunday brunch and serve one of the best chocolate dessert buffet.

5. Fairmont Waterfront Centre Hotel
   • The Waterfront Centre Hotel is ideally located across the Canada Place cruise ship terminal. Upon entering this deluxe hotel, you will find traditional and contemporary interior merging tastefully together to create a wonderful and intimate atmosphere. It is worth strolling the hotel to enjoy the original artwork from Canadian and Pacific Northwest artists. Sunday brunches are a musical treat here as members of the Vancouver Symphony will entertain you as you sample some of the hotel restaurant's speciality. There is a lovely landscaped deck completed with a heated outdoor pool and rare open kitchen.

6. Wedgewood Hotel
   The Wedgwood Hotel exudes elegance and charm and the staff are friendly. It gives off an elegant and intimate atmosphere despite its size. (It has only 93 rooms). It has a large balcony but you won't find any huge tours or conventions here. Some of the extras are blackout drapes, flowers growing on the balconies, afternoon ice delivery, a daily sheet of menu specials, turn-down services and a 24 hour room service. 8. Blue Horizon Hotel
   • The best things about the Blue Horizon Hotel are its spacious rooms, the view and great location. It is located within walking distance of Robson Street. The building has 31 floors and is shaped like a cross, so all the rooms have corner windows. In addition to the balconies, you have a panorama view of the harbour and English Bay. This is not a luxury hotel and there are no concierge or room service, but the basics are there plus those magnificent view. The hotel's small gym includes a lap pool and a few exercise machine.

9. Executive Inn Hotels and Suites
   • Opened in June, 1994, the Executive Inn has an eager and cheerful staff. It is located near the Granville Street Bridge and it has tasteful furniture and a brightly lit lobby that is welcoming. The closet and bathroom are both small in size. Each room provides a coffemaker, safes, air conditioners, hair dryers and clock radios. Many of the upper floors have a grand view of the mountains and seas. There are 22 suits for short and long term stays. The Cafe Angles specializes in Pacific Northwest dishes and there is an exercise room if you wish to work out.

10. YWCA Hotel
    • After close to 100 years on Burrard Street this co-ed hotel moved to a new and modern building in 1995. It has 155 rooms. Al rooms have telephones and mini-refrigerators as well as kitchens, tv lounges and laundry facilities that are shared. There is the option of shared and private bathrooms. Guests will have the use of the Health and Wellness Centre at the YWCA co-ed facility on Hornby Street. Although the hotel is not as close to the business district, the BC Place Stadium and the Vancouver Public Library are within walking distance.

11. Lonsdale Quay Hotel
    • Situated right beside the seabus terminal, this is the North Shore's most convenient hotel. Most of the rooms take advantage of the waterfront location and the fantastic view, with either a full balcony or French doors. The rooms are modern and clean. There is a lounge completed with a dance floor and a fitness centre. An added bonus is the location of the hotel which is perched on top of the Lonsdale Quay Market where you can literally spend hours browsing through fresh food stalls and various boutiques and eateries.
